I spent days looking for a camera that recorded good HD images while also trying to have a camera as affordable as possible. All the cheaper ones seemed to have bad image stablization...and a shaky image is pointless even if the quality is HD. This one has no shakyness, and though it was at the higher end of my budget, it was worth it...I'll be using this thing for years...

The CX110 is a great medium price HD video camera, perfect for at-home use. I was impressed with the 25x optical zoom, and it's great low-light capabilities. The menus and touch screen are easy to use, most of the default settings suited me just fine. The videos are very clear, colors are good, even at the default #3 quality setting. Almost 4 hours of HD video fit on a 16gb card, which is reason to buy the larger battery if you plan to shoot long videos. The camera itself has no internal memory, so you must also buy a memory card. Videos and pictures can easily be downloaded into a pc, the included software makes it easy to move, view and edit videos.

The only fault I've found is minor... the built-in mics pick up wind noise on a breezy day, but that may be true on every camera. An optional external mic should fix that.

Overall, I'm very happy with this camera! It's very light and small, fits in a jacket pocket.
