I've always been partial to Sony products and I am again pleased with Sony again. Style, ease of use, features, etc. are all reasons why I enjoy using this camera. Not have to rewind the tape and the internal memory are great to have. Easy download and the software that comes with the camcorder is pretty decent.

Perfect camera without the fear of losing video or getting corrupt video because of a poor tape or dirty recording head. Very easy to use and the quality indoors, outdoors and in low light is fabulous. Very easy to use.

Amazing video and pictures! I like everything except one: the touch screen playback. When you stop to look at a picture or to watch a clip, the icons on screen disappears. So you have to touch the screen once to bring back the icons, then touch the second time to roll the pictures.
Other than that, it would have been a perfect camcorder for this price range.

I just upgraded to this camera from a sony handycam i bought just 3 years ago. This camera is a MAJOR upgrade - it filters out background noise (somehow) and gives you the focus on sound you are looking for.
Excellent in low light and good night vision.
i wish camera did not have the auto closing cap - i'm worried that might break..but its minor issue.

This camcorder is worth its price. I wanted a compact camcorder which can record HD videos and picture for my home use. I always wanted to go for Canon but after seeing this camcorder i changed my mind. This is good for casual users who want to buy good HD camcorder for a reasonable price (Though i feel the price is on higher side but it is definitely less than Canon of almost same specification)

The only thing i feel Sony could have improved is body/shape of the camcorder. It take some time to get used to hold this camcorder.

Overall i love this camcorder

I am a casual user. Last new camcorder was 10 years ago (Sony DCR-PC100). What an improvement! I don't know if I'll really use the GPS but it is neat to have. I'll be going on a cruise and we'll see. At first I'll be converting the HD to normal DVD material but saving the HD files for when BluRay is more common. The unit is small, light, and compact. The controls seem to be easy to access but you only really know after some time in the field. I'd suggest any interested person to check out the YouTube postings to get practical ideas as to what this cam can do. Quite happy with my purchase and with Abe's.

so far so good. Low light video is very good, and stabilization seems excellent. Those are the reasons I bought this camcorder and so far I am not disappointed. I've not had the chance to compare it head to head vs. the competition, but I'm happy with it.
