I bought this camera primarily for a planned cross-country trip planned for this summer, but had occasion to tape my barbershop singing group in rehearsal. I was gratified by the quality of both picture and sound, and was easily able to make DVDs to share with other members

Good HD camcorder. Quality or recording in low light is not good, poor quality not HD at all. Overall good camera. Battery runs out fast but it good for 1 hr recording at a time. Happy with it looking forward to see it records to our trip to Alaska.

I have several Sony and Canon camcorders I use for surveillance work in my business.
The HD/Hard Drive quality is superior.
The only complaint I have is that the date and time stamp is not transferred when a copy is made.I contacted Sony and was informed that no HD camcorders can do it.I have since learned that software can accomplish this but I am told that the footage will be in analogue which defeats the purpose of a HD camera.Still experimenting.

I like it.
