I use this product mostly for home movies. I read a lot about the camera and decided to go with a camera with both a hard drive and a memory card. I did this because there were several reviews that said the hard drive stopped working and there was no way to fix it besides sending it in.
It takes wonderful video outdoors. When outside the video is fantastic. However indoors the video will become grainy and will also slow down if there is not enough light. The slow down part is hard to explain. When you zoom in and there is not enough light the video being recorded slows down a bit and becomes choppy.
I like the camera. But it's hard to justify spending so much money on a camera that doesn't take good low-light video.

I have only used the camera a couple of times but it is performing nicely so far. The video quality is a little less than I expected for HD, but at its price point it's definitely good. Transferring video to my iMac was dead simple, and I love being able to snap still shots (in great quality) while filming.
