My first use was at a wedding in Denver, CO. It was the perfect match for the setting of the wedding. I could catch the wedding ceremony with the video and still take still photos at various intervals as needed. It was easy to use and I'll use it more in low light situations with the flash on. Doesn't take up much space, but is a powerful camera. Great for weddings.

Although I have had the camcorder just a short time, my experience,so far,is very positive. On day one (after receiving the handycam), I took the XR550V down the Chattahoochie River(near Atlanta) on a rafting adventure! I realized I was at risk damaging the camera, but looking back, it was worth the risk. After viewing the absolutely spectacular HD video and sound I captured of the action with my children and grandchildren, I was very satisfied. It was also refreshing to not have to worry about having enough tape or battery power to cover the entire day! My post-adventure processing, using the PMB version 5.2 supplied with the camcorder, made it easy to copy my 80 files from the Handycam HDD into my computer and then to burn the AVCHD files on a DVD-R disc. The video and audio playback on my AV system, using a Sony Blu-ray player, was great!
