Comments about SVAT CV0204DVR Web Ready DVR System with 4 Outdoor Nightvision Cameras and 160GB HDD:
Bought this for web access and soon found windows would not allow software to install because it was unsigned. Had to disable security and then reinable. Can not use work pc as you need to install software on each viewing pc. Need to know port forwarding on router also. Pic quality good and being wired has no outside noise like wireless. Great add on to existing security system.

[...] I find the camera system to be as advertised in the things it will do and the Svat support staff to be considerate and helpful. However, the DVR hard drive failed after 2 days of use and I found the people that handle the replacement at SVAT have little feeling for the customer’s time or cost. My limit for waiting for a replacement was near end and payment was to be cancelled when service rep. David took it upon himself to plug in the unit I sent back and read the NO–HDD fault on screen. David had a new unit sent out soon after. There seems to be no plan to care for a customer after the purchase is made for faulty equipment and sent back to them for fault testing. If you buy this one and need to ship it back for whatever reason, the transportation cost is on you and be prepared for a lot of waiting time. It is now in operation and up to par.
