I purchased this to use with my Canon HF200 Camcorder. The onboard mic is not bad as far as camcorders go, but I am picky when it comes to sound. I record my daughter's instrumental and/or vocal performances as well as product videos for my web site. The detail is excellent, instruments sound very natural and dynamic range is great. It really shines when it comes to picking up the sense of space around a performance. I wish the low end had a little more body - the tonal quality seems slanted to the upper range - but maybe I am being a bit too picky - for the price it does an excellent job and do not regret the purchase.

I use this microphone to record a lot of jazz and other cultural events. The results are absolutely outstanding! Crisp highs and rugged lows. I am overjoyed with the Rode SVM Stereo Video Mic! I couldn't have done better in my choice to use on my 5D Mark II DSLR. It compliments the hi definition video to the utmost.

I film wildlife for dvd and tv production. This mic has been a solid addition to my gear. The sound quality it picks up is amazing. Despite this great sound, I am dealing with a humm in the background of my recordings. I'm in the process of trying to work thru this. So far that has been the only downside. Once I have that mastered, look out!

Just started using VideoMic on HS football. Great stereo separation between fans, field action, and band. I am very pleased. Just be ready for the added weight on the front for hand held jobs.
